Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar has been honoured alongside the UK’s leading local authorities at the Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation Awards 2015, held in Telford, Wednesday 7 October 2015.
The National IRRV Performance Awards are the benchmark by which excellence and progress in public sector revenue collection and benefits administration is measured.
The Comhairle achieved Highly Commended in the category of Most Improved Team of the Year.

Along the path to sustained improvement the team has risen to the challenges faced when delivering welfare reform taking on new work with limited impact on performance.
In making the award, the judging panel recognised the significant achievement of the team across all parts of the service.
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar Leader, Cllr Angus Campbell, said: “I am delighted that the hard work of the team has been recognised at national level. It shows that services delivered in the islands can be amongst the best the public sector has to offer. The most important aspect of this achievement is the significant improvement in the quality of service revenues and benefits customers, some of whom are experiencing financial hardship, receive.”
