 The Comhairle is holding a series of Consultation Meetings throughout the Western Isles next week, starting on Tuesday 14th January.  The Our Islands – Our Future initiative has been gathering momentum for several months now as efforts are made to secure more powers for the islands, whatever the outcome of the 2014 referendum.
The Comhairle is holding a series of Consultation Meetings throughout the Western Isles next week, starting on Tuesday 14th January.  The Our Islands – Our Future initiative has been gathering momentum for several months now as efforts are made to secure more powers for the islands, whatever the outcome of the 2014 referendum.
Comhairle Leader, Angus Campbell, said, “We are committed to seeing this campaign through, with the support of our community. I firmly believe it is in the interests of everyone living and working in our islands to back this campaign, and I encourage people to come along to the meetings to ask questions, make comments and suggestions, or just to add their support to the initiative. I look forward to the meetings throughout the islands next week.”
