The Western Isles Occupational Therapy Department has launched an amnesty for the return of wheelchairs loaned to members of the community, which are no longer in use.
When clients require a wheelchair in the long-term, the local Occupational Therapy Department often loans wheelchairs on a short-term basis while a more long-term solution is arranged.
A number of Occupational Therapy (OT) wheelchairs however have not been returned over recent months, and staff are appealing to any member of the public who may still have an OT wheelchair in their possession that is not in use, to return it as soon as possible, so that it can be used by other clients who may require it.
Anyone who has a wheelchair loaned by the OT Department that is not in use should contact the department on 01851 708287 to arrange for a collection.
